Having trouble with blender

I am trying to make a pyro misc for his back and i need to get rid of his gas tank. How do I get rid of it?

How did you get the backpack in the first place? The decompiled model doesn't come with the backpack attached. If you decompiled the model correctly, they should be separate files. pyro reference model, pyro head reference model, and pyro backpack model. Also the rig should be included with these. If that's not what you have, then you probably didn't do it correctly. Have you seen Helljumper's tutorial?
