Mask 1 Alpha needs to be black.
If photoshop can't save tga probably no legit vers. Try Gimp, it's free and same features.
To submit , I think you should compile it ( search google for compilation ) or just remain as smd file , which later on submit it as 'other' ( All has to be in zip file )
If you are doing animation action that is already available to the heroes (eg.run attack,etc)
You can override the existing qc file to replace your custom animation and test it in game later on .
Do search google for the guides and documentation , some of them are not related to dota2 but it is still applicable . ( I had gave you many hint ) .
In the end , I still recommend you to master your basics before going for advance . Trust me messing with qc file for the first time is very frustrating and time consuming.
