Dagon polygon
I'm trying to improve my texturing skills since they are seriously lacking. I decided to try and model the coin that was given out at PAX 2013 for The Elder Scrolls Online.

I've already modeled the coin itself and baked the normal map from the high poly mesh through Xnormal. But I had to add the Dragon symbol and the "rough and scratched" details separately on the coin through Photoshop using a mixture of nDo and Xnormal since I couldn't sculpt the scratches or Dragon design because I don't have any sculpting software

I tried to replicate the metal look of the coin using a base metal texture map that I created using grunge brushes at various opacities and masking some areas. Following this tutorial here: [ame]https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yb4Jd_x3_jg[/ame]

as you can see the metal texture doesn't look good. How do you guys do it?
