How often does the TF2 store get updated

I'd quick like to try and get some items into the store but I'm wondering how often Valve puts new user made content up? And how many items do they put up when they do?

There isn't a regular update frequency or item count but you can dig some info from this page which lists every update so far and items included in individual updates:
