Transition Mirror TV, has any one got one?
I would like to set one up in my lounge but they seam really expensive for what is primarily a frame with a see though mirror. So I am thinking of building one myself?
The glass to buy is around £150 $200ish. To by one ready made with a tv inside is around £3000/$4526 for a 47" TV, that makes it around £2000/$3018 for the frame! The one in the image below is £23,150.00 / $34,925.25 and if I was Markus "Notch" Persson then I would buy one but for now I am going to see if I can build one
so if you have any tips I would love to hear them.

yeah, thanks for that, there seams to be different qualities of mirror, the darker the less reflective but the better the picture. As for heating, you have a good point, this is why you pay so much money for all the R&D but I guess if I splash out on a good quality LED screen there is less heat.
Okay here is the plan, buy a Two Way Acrylic Mirror for a 47" TV, then build a frame. I will need to look into the controller input, leaving an oversized slot? Then I will need to look into HDMI cable length and check for any issues with signal power.

Yeah, sod it, this morning I think I will just hang the dam thing on the wall, got to much stuff on my plate and I think the shine will drive me mad. Also thinking back to growing up as a kid with bowl shaped TVs the shine used to drive me crazy.
If anyone has one set up I would love to hear how bad/good the reflectance is. When I get a bit more time I will look into different mirror glass and try to find the best balance, most transparent VS best reflectance when switched off.
I will do it one day but not yet my firend.
Yeah I find them ugly, in the UK lots of us live in old Victorian houses and they tend to be long and thin, not well designed for flat screen TVs
