Remote Access to workstation

Hi! Please, can someone advice best way to set up remote access from notebook to work computer (Windows 8.1, security is not an issue). Which method will give the best performance to actually work with 3D (maya modeling, animation etc).
I tried to use softwares like standard windows RDP, radmin, splashtop. But they seem to use some strange graphical mode and not every 3D application work well in it and they are not very fast overall.

Run the Server on the remote machine, and the client on the computer you are using.
