Strange issue in 3ds max 2012

I have this model ( actually all models from this user hot this issue) and after a few time the model vertex color display gets turned on. ( object property -> vertex color display)
This happen everytime I save the scene (wether it's when I press ctrl+s or when it auto-save)
I even had to write a macroscript to disable the vertex color quickly when it activate.
I tried merging the model inside a new scene but the issue still occurs. There's got to be a way to remove this "features!?"

I remember having this issue at some point with 2012. 2012 Service Pack 1 states fixing a vertex channel display issue.
