3DS Max Biped and Elbows...

Quick question, within the biped "Key Info" menu we can set planted, sliding and free keys. We can also adjust pivots for the hands and feet. Is there a way to plant a characters Elbows or knees? Just wondering if anyone has been able to do this efficiently?
I've been able to get counter keyed animations working, it just gets sloppy. Any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks all!
