Face Anatomy Tutorials?

I have a hard time finding good face anatomy/sculpting tutorials. There is a lot of ressources for the body but weirdly enough, for the face, not that much. I stumbled upon some Ryan Kingslien tutorials but that is pretty much it. Most of the tutorials I saw did not look that helpful on an advanced level.

Anyway...

What's your best ressources for faces? Books in particular? Some video tutorials?

Look for traditional resources like how to draw or sculpt the face in clay, this stuff applies to everything!

I had that on my copy pasta ready to go!
Its a pretty great book for being free

A lot of modern stuff is based around his work
I do like how he teaches it, but I feel like the more modern adaptations of his process work better for me. Though starting there is great, I've read through it twice...now just to apply it and practice XD

For an easily digestible method of drawing the head and features, Proko's methods are great (although they use Loomis's methods as a base).

Artnatomia has a pretty cool web based app.

I like that you can blend the opacity of the different pieces, muscles, bone and skin.

I also like that it highlights each muscle group so you can get a sense of how they work individually and together by turning on different expressions.

What you're looking for might not be related directly to anatomy but to "how to draw better", where "better" is subjective. What are your goals, exactly? stylization? efficiency in constructing the head (form & abstraction)? hardcore anatomy (deep muscles & tissue deformation)?

I'd recommend any of Scott Eaton's anatomy classes. I've learned a lot from him:

Tons of great drawing books too. Anything from Loomis, Gottfried Bammes, and Bridgeman.

Well I really want to know how to construct and detail a proper realistic head, with all its subtleties. So yeah it goes from to the construction to the "hardcore" anatomy.

Yeah that's the one I saw. It's okay. I did not find it that much helpful. Too much abstract talk and not enought technical stuff for me.

Ha man if only I had the money. This must be a life changing course. Scott is an amazing teacher.
