Poly Hair in Blender

Hi, I am trying to add poly hair onto this model, I already have a quick particle hair system set up. I was wondering if there was a way to have the strands of the particle hair system control the placement and orientation of poly hair "clumps" Is there any way of doing this or is there a better way of doing poly hair in blender.

I could really use the help of anyone willing to share their expertise.

Hello there,

a direct way to use the Particle system with the wished full controllability I sadly don´t know about.

an alternative way to have control about placement and orientation of hair planes is thru the
Array Sketch 0.75a addon

I believe if you go to the Home page link by the download link on that page you will get to a blenderartist thread that has working links for different versions of the addon.

I got the addon installed, but it only seems to really work for longer hair, I tried using it to place clumps of hair and it does not work well.

Any other suggestions or should I just resort to placing all of the strands by hand?
