Steampunk Computer

Hello, I am a first year game development student and I wanted to keep in practice during the summer so I decided to start a fun prop... a steam punk computer! So far I have most of the high poly done, I'm hoping to sculpt out the stands with the lion paws ect. I am going to be texturing this prop as well.

this is nicee. Could do with more polys on the top to get a smoother curve though.. very nice nevertheless.

I would break up the wooden parts into separate planks (like on a barrel) as I think that would look more believable and more interesting ion my opinion.

The model could be optimized quite a lot as well by faking some of the detail in the normal map as opposed to modelling it all out. For instance some of the screws (at least the smallest ones), the flat rings under the bolts, the dvd drives and such could be faked. Other than that I also agree with oxblood about the top curve being too lowpoly.

Other than that I think it looks really nice.

As a game mesh it's a bit too high poly in some places. As Nosslak said, there's quite a few details you could fake using normal maps and also lose some edges here and there. What you do want though, is to have a nice silhouette, so the top could use a few more edges to round it out.
Having said that, it looks pretty nice. Is it marmoset you have it in?
