When modular design goes wrong

I'm looking for some games that show us how NOT to use modular design. I need it for my presentation and nothing comes to my mind. Important note: it must be a in-game example not a random guy's work on forum or sth. Also it shouldn't be older than 10 years - preferable the new ones.

I was trying but as I said nothing comes to my mind - and it's hard to find something when you have never seen that. I run out of keywords to type in google and still got no answer. And thanks for Big Rigs, but it's not what I'm looking for. The only thing I found so far is that:
