Modo's Auto snapping

When retopologizing, modo seems to automatically engage in "snap mode" whenever I select the pen, topology pen or topology sketch tools. Is there a setting in my preferences to disable this feature by default?

turn off constraint to background in your snapping mode (F11)

Could be doing something wrong, but enabling "none" in my constraint mode for both the tool and the preferences doesn't seem to stop the topo tab's persistent auto enabling.

Hmm, there was a setting in one of the tabs in the topo tab.

But I think that might be part of the tool preset for the topo pen. You should be able to disable it in the toolpipe on the right.
