Tho, there are rumors of people buying votes @down_limit, but who knows, there was another thread about it somewhere... i have been featured in the top 5 a couple times, and it does marvels for votes.

Competence in what sense? Production value? The competence of one individual's opinion? I don't really get the point of this post. It is just Sunsfan's personal opinion, not some kind of pay to get advertised.

It's SUNSfan opinion, not a professional designer/modeller/concept artist opinion.

Even if it was, it's his opinion, and the influence of the top 5 in the workshop is questionable. Most polycount guys have been featured, and great part of then have not been accepted.
