Hi People,

just want to show you what i´ve started since yesterday.
Here is my reference picture:
l9xfl6qs.jpg

There i was yesterday:
vul4yeb3.jpg

And here i´ am at the moment:
w9h66qef.jpg

The Mesh is baked down from a High Poly and has now 1K Triangles.
Texture complete manually made in Photoshop.

I know that there are some missing details, but i think that the most importants are on board! ;)

I´m a bit sad because it would be better when i have made a alpha map for the plastic plate and model behind this plastic plate some Planes for the Cigarettebox pictures. Now it´s looking a bit flat and this would give the whole thing more deepness.

It´s still WIP because i must add Dirt and Rust to the Upper Side, to the Bottom and to the sides, too. It´s seperately UV mapped because of stretching.

The Materialsurface of this Machine is called "Hammerschlaglack" and looks so:

Tried to implement that.

Greetings from Germany,

Gazu

    Thank you! :)
As i said, it´s just Flat, nothing in there. So it´s a mix of 2 overlaying Pictures/Layers with transparency. I have turned up the transparency of the upper layer. Now the cigarette brands are more visible.

Will post soon new Pics. At the moment im working on the Sides of this machine. Adding Dirt to complete it.

    Thx,
    Gazu

The vertical streaks seem really arbitrary. I'd expect them to be concentrated under the overhangs - the text, the coin slot, etc. The bottom rust spot makes a degree of sense, but those in the middle feel rather random.

The bricks are much too small, and could really use a normal map.

    Thanks DWalker :)

I will correct this and post soon new pics.
The Wall is really fast implented.
I will try to make the wall nice these days.

I have marked the points which you have told me: (Red is Wrong and Green is the better position)
    pr6nt5gt.jpg

I tought maybe the streaks are good so because of rain.
They´re leaking down from above and get dry on the front.

It looks good so far, but try tracing that font in photoshop 1to1, it is extremely important to convey the right mood. Fonts transport a lot of character, and the brain is trained to react a lot stronger to text than images (2-3x). It does not feel right to me (also the kerning of the Z is really off)
Im not really good with old fonts, but I think youre atleast 20 years off.

Why not model the interior ? Its rather simple, and isnt it what it is all about ?
The scale relation between it and the bricks is also very off

Hi Shrike, thanks for your comment.
Yeah i will make the wall better, bigger bricks and add a normal map.

I was searching for a Font which is similar to the font on the reference.
And this is what i get at the moment.

Maybe i will find a better one. The whole scene is still WIP
Want to add a garbage can, some cartons/boxes and a sidewalk.

Actually i don´t know why i didnt modeled in the interior. Stupid ^^
I think my eyes want to see results and this as soon as possible. And so i jumped over to texturing before modeling was finished 100%. I really asking myself : Will this be good or not so good?...

The most streaks are now leaking down from overhangs like the letters, the Coinslots or the Keyhole.

Ive deleted the Rust on the Front and added just a slightly rust in mix with the streaks on the upper right corner.

I popped up a bit the Material on the normal and added some slightly scratches on the front plastic plate in the diffuse and in the spec.
Adding them in the normal they came out to fat or not really visible.

Ive added Dirt on all Sides of the Machine...yeah...

    Better?

The interior appears to be the pack labels pasted onto a white background. Why don't you render the actual interior onto a texture and use that? It won't be perfect - there will obviously be no parallax as you move around - but it will be better, and it will allow you to reduce the opacity of the glass.

Hm...you mean to model in some Planes for the Cigarette Brand Pictures?
Is it not to late for that? xD

A Tire for my Dirty Cigarette Machine Street Scene.
Please help me to improve that tire.
Or do you find that it´s ok?

I modelled him a bit higher for this purpose. 700 Triangles.
Im happy with the bake, only the stupid inner circle looks a bit off.

I have baked out this cylinder XXXX Times, and this problem dont stoped.
I have set the SG to the UV Isles with TexTools, but every time it comes out so.
At the end i leave it just like it is now!

What do you think of the dust? More dust? Looks the tire to new?
The Brown Touch on this tire is not just Light, its painted dust in the diffuse and specular.
What could i do to improve that tire more?

I mean, the Tire is a small piece in the scene but anyway i want to hold up to a "a bit better quality."

    Thanks and Hope for help.

    Gazu ;)

You say you know you're missing some details, but did you realize that those details are what separate this model from just being another rounded box with a pretty texture?

Add in that upper lip on the machine, along with the slight bevel on the bottom. Get everything in proper scale, including the lock in the upper right and the number of stickers.
