Mudbox black spots ?

Hello all

I have not been using mudbox for a while now and recently upgraded to world machine pro, so back into mudbox again.

I can't for the like of me figure this out and I can't remember if I have had it before but it's killing my mood with mudbox:

The height maps from WM are clean btw.

any help would stop my head boiling :poly122:

    I haven't run into that so I can't give an exact solution - but a sloppy work around might be to render the disp map at double or triple resolution, and then resize down to see if those black spots disappear or are softened out.

    Just to double check, make sure you are using 32 bit image formats - if not the displacement map bake won't work well at all.

    I tried what you said but no luck. It's definitely a mudbox error as I get the same results with older hight maps I made. Will reinstall mudbox and see what happens.

    Sorted it out with a reinstall, spots are still visible in the view port but are not visible on the extracted displacement map !!!
