Hard Surface - Corner Scene

Hey all,
I am a Games Art second year at the University of Hertfordshire and I received a hard surface assignment earlier this week. I need to re-create a scene / corner from a film or game using UDK. I have chosen to re-create Ropeburn's Office from Mirrors Edge and this is the stage I am at so far.

I have a mood board of the room with a very quick outline sketch and some assets I have created for the scene, any crit is more than welcome

Quick update: Been doing other assignments today, but made time to do some of my corner scene. I have taken some advice and added some more edge loops (thank you, Tim Blake). Also, I have added a keyboard and mouse to the desk, I'm slowly making my way through the assets

hey man
loving the idea just wondering if your going to put you own twist in it.
if i had to pick on something i would say your concept if a bit simple, and needs more color and maybe do a floor plan.
models look good cant wait to see them textured.

@mark2960: I plan on putting a personal twist to the scene... updating old to new e.g the 4:3 monitor to a widescreen etc. The concept/ outline sketch was very quick just so I knew what the camera angle would be. I will post a better one later

A floor plan sounds like a good idea, should help with spacing the scene correctly.

sorry for not keeping my thread up to date, been really busy with other projects adn completely forgot about you guys... sorry for not uploading them properly, I can't seem to get that or my imgur account to work, I'll try and get that sorted asap!! So I apologise for the for the attachment! Here is the scene with diffuse, specular and normals on... they still need some work. However, this scene will be being imported into udk sometime this week, the lighting should change drastically

any advice or tips to fix this? I've managed to fix quite a lot of the lighting issues with altering and tinkering with the light-maps, but I still have a few to create. However, the only thing bothering me right now is the left wall... why is the shadow like that? I've been scratching my head for eternity and I can't figure out the issue.

So I went back to the drawing board after taking in some useful advice and did a couple paint-over's to see what I could do. I then went into UDK and tried to replicate them... here are the results. I'm still unsure which focal point I prefer, What do you all think?

no, you need to imbed the images. There is a picture button at the top of your editor. you can paste the URL in there.

JakeLeeCooper - Once you have the images uploaded to imgur, copy the direct link for them and then use the "Insert Image" button to have the images show up in your post. I went ahead and fixed your last post.

As for the scene, it's a good start, but the lighting still has a long way to go. At the moment it's too dark overall and the light doesn't seem to match it's source. I would either change the ceiling light to one of those large rectangular fluorescent lights or maybe even try lighting the scene with warmer desk lights, like this.

went ahead and took some advice to light up the right painting/darkened the left. It's drawing my attention a little better but not sure if the painting is still taking attention away from the desk... what do you think? Any better?
