Wonder Woman WIP - Could use some help

Right now I am at the part to sculpting fine details. But her proportions seem quite off and I'd like to fix that first. She just doesn't look quite right. Apart from the fact that she's not running around in bikini clad and underwear.

It's a really nice beginning, but like you said, the proportions seem off. Her legs look too long compared to her upper body. Also, I am not certain, but her arms also look a bit too short for her height. I made a quick sketch just to show the proportions :

I am no professional, I am a total beginner, but I just wanted to give you my opinion. : )

Hey, Simon, thanks for that man. I do intend for her legs to be longer yeah. That's by design. However, you're right. Her arms is too short. Her elbows should align with bellybutton. And her palms should be able to reach her thighs. I think I will also moving her knees down a bit. Lengthening her thighs and shortening her legs a bit.

BTW, what is the blue line for ?

I think that thigh and shin should be same length. There are very few, even totally exaggerated characters that brake that "rule". ( actually can't remember any)

Hey PyrZern good start, but I think aside from proportions one of the biggest issues with this sculpt is you've subdivided too much too quickly. It becomes very difficult to get nice smooth shapes when sculpting a really dense mesh. Things start to look kinda lumpy and clay-like. If you still have your lower subdivs I would highly suggest you going back to them until you get the right proportions and shape. Hope this helps!

I still keep the lowersubd

Went higher res to put in some muscle details, but then I have to adjust her proportions first.

Thanks for the link. Kingslien is awesome indeed. I been following his advices for face/head sculpt. This time I'm doing full body, so yeah, I will check his videos more.

Will post update tonight after work.

The weird feeling about her proportion is gone now, cheers. Probably still not very accurate, but I can now push forward :P

I really like that you are giving her a more accurate physique. Drives me crazy in comics when she's presented as ridiculously skinny with enormous boobs. This is not an effective build for a warrior.

Hey Pyrzern!

Make sure to also post the side view since it'll tell us more on how to fix some of the proportional issues. Personally, I wouldn't go into detailing the model like you've done until I get the general proportions that I want.

For example the feet are probably too big, but if we had the side view we'd know by how much. Most of your work will be done at lower subdivision levels as well.

My bad. Here's front and side view.

The problem I have with low subd is sometimes I can't visualize things correctly until I start putting in details. One reason is probably I'm designing this as I go. So I feel like I have to see everything as a whole to decide what to do next. Not a good practice, I suppose.
