Exporting Model with Maya Shaders from Maya to 3ds Max

*Is it possible to export a model with Maya Shaders from Maya 2012 to 3ds Max 2014?


I'm working on a project client needs the model I created with maya shaders (rendered in mental ray
to be exported to 3ds format).

There is no 3ds export option in Maya. I attempted to export the model to fbx format, imported to 3ds Max, but file is missing shaders, in particular all the chrome shaders all missing, even though there in the maya scene file.
