UNCHARTED 3 - Environment "Desert" in CryENGINE 3

Hey, folks!

My name is Antonio Jean and I have 18 years old, I'm new in this community. I want to share these images that I created in the "CryENGINE3" inspired by the PlayStation 3 exclusive game "UNCHARTED 3 - Drake's Deception". I used some landscapes of this game created by Robh Ruppel and Anthony Vaccaro. I've never played this game but I think it must be great to play.

I am a beginner creating environments and models. I learned to use the "CryENIGINE 3" by myself with the "Forest" Level. Hehehe ... So do not expect something that looks a little better. Any Criticism is Welcome.

Guys, have consideration with me, I'm just a beginner in this... n.n

    Very nice work! Is all of it your own custom models? Either way really nice work.

    My only crit would mainly be regarding the propping of the level.

    Mainly regarding these. I would say that they are too packed. You never really give the eye a chance to rest somewhere. In this case you don't want to look in the middle of all this mainly because it's just too much visual noise going on there. So the eyes tend to go upwards and look at the nice rock-formations instead.

    Usually tricks to deal with this type of stuff is to keep vegetation growing as "islands". Small islands everywhere and in between there are rivers, walkways or something else interesting.

    In your case you've got a car in there with all these ferns. Maybe make it so that it crashed into a rock and you have a visible road that goes through your scene to the crashing scene with maybe trampled vegetation and vegetation that has been run-over. Or just a simple walkway.

    Don't always feel you have to place something to make it look more interesting, you'll end up in a situation where the whole scene looks busy and it negates the actual effect each and individual prop has.

    So yeah that's my crit for you. Other than that, really good work! :thumbup:

    I get the feeling that some of the props are just placed randomly without logic, it all looks good though!

    Many thanks for the tips, "chrisradsby". No, the models come with the CE3. I'm still learning to use 3D Max. I'm going to remove some objects in the environment you've pointed me to also remove the visual noise and is more pleasing to the eye. Thanks again for the other tips, I'll have in mind for my other environment....! :thumbup: n_n
