Sample pixel on screen RGB values

Is there a tool that will sample a point on screen and return the RGB values? Right now I use print screen, paste into PS and sample from there.

What OS do you use? On OSX I'm using Art Director's toolkit, on Win our guys use Picpick. They both maybe a bit heavy if you only want to sample a color (they have rulers, grids and other design related stuff) but there are plenty of simpler pickers like Pixeur, ColorPix, ColorMania, Color Cop and so on.

Photoshop color picker works if you drag&drop from the canvas to other part of the screen. If you opened the color picker from forground/background color you'll get instant feedback.

Sometimes I do not have PS open, I just need to sample a color while in 3DS Max or Maya. These apps work awesome.

I use jcpicker on windows for that (and also manipulating the color itself) : http://annystudio.com/software/colorpicker/
It's a standalone and portable application so I save it in my dropbox.

Return the value from 0-1 or 0-255, HEX and html.

Lamont, Maya has a colour picker tool that can sample any colour within Maya. If you want to sample something from the desktop I think you're out of luck. I used to load the image in the render view and sample it from there.
