Haven't seen any posts about this here, but Wacom has been teasing a bit more information about their upcoming portable Cintiq in the form of these really tacky comics:

Looks to be based off of the 13HD. There will be two versions, one based on the Nvidia Tegra 4 platform with Android OS and an Intel i7 version with Windows 8. Official unveiling later this month. It looks like they can be used as a stand alone portable, and also be plugged into your workstation and used as a normal Cintiq.

No word yet on pricing. I may consider picking up the i7 variant if the price is right.

Now let's hope for 8gb of RAM or more. The only reason I haven't bought a tablet yet is because they're all either lacking in power or use an Ntrig digitizer. My only real option right now is the discontinued Fujitsu T902 which is a bit clumsy on the design side but I've heard good things.

I'm guessing at least $2000 or more for one considering they tack on $500 for just touch capability on the existing Cintiqs.

i'll throw my guess in at $2,000.

it's the same tablet tech as the 13" cintiq, but they're attaching a tablet to it, so just add the two costs together.

hell they might even add an extra $500 just because "they're the bestest". lol.

Yeah, but this Cintiq tablet is 13". The surface pro is like trying to sculpt in Zbrush on a post-it note. I put more thought into it and I'd wager $1500 for the android, probably $2500 on the Windows one. The new Nvidia Shield uses some tech to stream stuff from a desktop so I'm guessing the Android Cintiq will just be a regular Cintiq with streaming capabilities. The Windows one will be the one that makes sense if you want to be truly mobile. At least it will have a Haswell processor which means decent battery life.

Frustrating, and unsurprising, if true. But interesting, nevertheless.

I doubt Wacom has anything to do with that. All Lenovo does is license Wacom tech. They can do whatever they want with it once they license it. For example, Microsoft licensed it and added to it to get what is in the Surface Pro. Lenovo is notorious for product delays. They probably hit a snag and are working it out.

Wacom doesn't have anything to worry about. They're the most popular even though there is a price premium for a reason.
