VG REMIX - Grand Theft Auto
Hi Guys,
This is the first competition I'm participating in and I'm going to create a diorama on the four leaf clover (bank robbery) mission in GTA: IV. The diorama will be specifically centred on the moment Niko, Packie and his brother are in a gunfight with the police (on the streets) as there trying to run into the subway tunnel.
If the competition permits it, you might see some familiar faces from the series in the diorama.

My idea is still based on the bank robbery mission in GTA IV and on one platform will be Niko, Packie and Derek. The other will be the cops in a shootout with them.
There will be other people on the platforms but I've yet to decide where they will go and how they will fit into the scene.

Its been a while since i've done a update but here's what i've been working on. The environment is completed but could do with some tweaking and I would love to hear some feedback
Now to move on to characters...
So I had to think about where the textures are going to be used and consider how there going to be seen and decide what texture resolution to use. Therefore I combined the glass and metal beam texture onto a atlas. To try and save space I put a tiled texture onto a atlus but quickly learned the downfalls of that.
Textures like the bullet and gun however are not going to be tileable so I put them onto a atlus. When It came to the Police hat I knew I couldnt waste one whole texture slot on this object in particular. So I thought what stands out on a police officers hat? That would obviously be the badge on the hat so I decided to place the badge on a section of the police characters leg, as they are the same colour.
I was determined to stay within the 500 tris limit but found it difficult at first, as I was trying use allocate more polygons on the head to make it round. However If I had kept the head round, the hands would have had to be square. For me the hands had to be round to establish the charcters are lego.
