Progress on the wings/crystal

Planning on making something more interesting for the center gem, and decided to rework the wing design a bit.

Haven't updated in a while, been a bit busy but got the LOD in game. Early stages on texturing, gotta figure out this mask business. Wings came out alright but I don't know how I feel about them being static in game with all the other animations going. Definitely something to think about on my next item

Cool lookin' staff

Did you use alpha cards for the wings or is there some actual geo/thickness to them?

I used alpha cards. Wasn't sure how to go about adding thickness without costing too much geo.

Yeah, getting things under the budget was driving me nuts with the set i'm working on now. Definitely learned my lesson XD. Your staff came out looking pretty nice though, keep it up!

Whelp, decided to make the orb version of the staff and just completely redesign it. Hopefully this one will turn out much better.

2nd pass, going for falcon heads. Need a good center piece now to support the orb

The beaks don't really read as beaks of birds of prey to me yet, they're a bit too smooth and look quite docile. Check out some of these bad boys and see if you can adjust it to be a bit more menacing:
