Thoughts On the new consoles

I would love to here the thoughts on the new generation of consoles, since some of us are the guys that create the content that goes onto them?

I dont have any money to buy a console, any money to buy $60-$70 games, a HDTV thats not my PC, any time to play, any money not going into rent, food, and paying loans back. Im sure a lot of people here are the same.

yeah, new consoles are expensive but not as ridiculous as the last generation's launch prices, but I can see where your coming from with rent prices and where cost of living is concerned.

Yea I would rather play games I already have on PC that are still good, like Starcraft 2 and Diablo 3 and save myself hundreds of dollars on hardware.

I think the only reason for me to buy the consoles would possibly be the exclusives, eg, halo, uncharted, gears of war, infamous, etc.

Already have my ps4 mostly paid off. Getting Watch dogs, Killzone and another controller too. Wasnt going to get a Xbox One but since they changed their stance on a few things Ill wait awhile then get one sometime after launch when their is more games I want to play on it.

My only thought is a few months old but here it is.

"I hope there isn't a PS4 so Naughty Dog's next game is on the PC."

That was the trailer shown before they announced the Halo television series. (Halo 5 hasn't actually been announced, but we can assume it'll arrive for christmas next year)

I'm excited for them. The PS3/360 generation has went on too long so I'm really looking forward to what next gen has to offer. There's quite a few games I'm interested in (i.e Knack, Killer Instinct, Infamous SS etc).

Wish I could go out and pre-order one right now but I have no job.

That's the same trailer - it's not for Halo 5.

To quote Phil Spencer in the subsequent IGN interview:

“There was no ambiguity in not putting a number after the game. For me, what we showed wasn’t the game. Nobody should be confused on that. I didn’t really want to try to show something that was clearly a thought piece by the studio around where Master Chief is in his journey"

I don't get why this is so hard to believe - the trailer doesn't say 'Halo 5' or even indicate that it's a game. Did people not watch E3 - the stage show announcement was the television series; Halo 5 hasn't been announced. We all know it's coming, but it might not be until 2015.

Halo is an annual franchise - this year is Spartan Assault, and rumour has it next year is Halo 2 Anniversary, and if so, Halo 5 won't reach us for another two and a half years.
