Hey guys,

Since we couldn’t create a showthread we decided to share our work here. We are 7 student Visual Artists at the NHTV Breda, Netherlands. For our WorldBuilding course we had to choose a design from the designer students at our school. Their assignment was to create a Whitebox level for a multiplayer FPS death match level in the UDK 3 engine. We picked the design from Lisa Burgers.

The whitebox level we got was based on the movie avatar and we had to incorporate avatar in some way, so we decided to create a level on a floating rock, thats about it we took from avatar. It is an ancient temple created by aliens. Because we needed to come up with our own civilisation, we also needed to come up with our own architecture. All the architecture in this level has been designed by ourselves

Our assignment was to create a visual appealing level based on this design. Not having any experience this process we started off with creating concept art. Based on that we started modelling a block-out, next texturing/sculpting the entire level, finally adding the special effects, final lighting, and a trailer for our level. We are calling this project done, however feedback would be very much appreciated for future projects. This is our final result:
