Hard Surface Topology?

Hi Guys,

I'm practising my high poly modeling and I keep having problems with sections pinching horribly when I smooth them. I've made an image with an example of this. Any chance someone could give me some pointers?

Its a bit hard to tell from your pictures. the perspective doesn´t make it quite clear..
I don´t realy get the idea of your forms.

but maybe the odd smoothing is because of your 5-edge vertex in the center. these are usualy quite a problem. you mioght fix it like that, by adding two loops, and deleting that diagonal edge:

thats either compressed faces OR verts that havent been merged, have you tried pulling them apart?

I've lost the diagonal as you suggested fab-camp but I'm actually more interested in the corner. Do these views make it clearer? It looks like two distinct edges intersecting each other rather that one smooth moulded piece.

What you can do is add an edge loop on the are that was drawn in red (see attachment). I hope this helps
