[WIP] Irish cottage

Hello Polycount!
I am a newbie and just studying 3d game art.

This is one of my personal projects, called "Irish cottage". It is based on some old Irish cottage photos I found inspiring.

So please, take a look. I would appreciate your comments and suggestions.

Currently all the screenshots are rendered in Marmoset. But I'm going to render it in CryENGINE 3 later, when more details and props are done.

The scene is being done in Blender.

The transition between the right wall and the floor looks exceedingly harsh. Especially compared to the same transition on the left wall.

Hopefully the image will make clear what I'm referring to.

Go watch 'The Quiet Man'. There's quite a few interior Irish cottage scenes in that movie that might help your project.

Not an environment artist myself but this looks damn good. I especially like the Mary icon - adds a lot of character to the scene.

Think it's done. Made the colors cooler, in order to resemble the cold weather.

Nice. One little thing I'd do is add a tiny bit of randomness to the table setting. I feels it's a little too uniform for the moment, a little disorder in the setting should help add a little more life to the feeling.

Also, while your lighting is working, I don't feel like it's coming from the windows, while the direction is working, the windows don't feel lit.

Looks pretty good up to now

but if there are people living in this cottage, probably a family judgig by the number of plates on that table, then there needs to be some more domestic touches. Maybe a rug on the floor somewhere, a tablecloth here, some rustic cushions on the wooden bench, a crucifix above the fireplace maybe? Also some logs in a bucket next to the fireplace, with the related instruments to be able to prod and poke the flames?
It's just these little things that make the room feel more like you have the extra props in there that you can function with, or make it feel more cosy. You could even go for a little green and have a small pot of herbs on the window sill even.
I don't quite know if you've thought about these options yet, or at all, but thought I'd just add my two pennies here just in case. Keep going, it's looking really promising.
