[Help] - Hardsurface modeling help!

Hey there everyone,

I'm trying to model some capsule indents into a panel of sorts for a sci-fi scene. There seems to be this odd bump when I apply turbosmooth and I can't seem to fix it

Any help is appreciated!

What he has shouldn't tilt like that though. Maybe select all the verts and run a weld on them? You may have a doubled vert or edge somewhere in there.

I tried that, though I may have missed one.

I will check again. I will also try in the example you posted alifarsangi.

But like said before, there is something going on that shouldn't be happening. It could very well be some double vertex or unwelded stuff like said before.

I have implemented your fix and it still comes out the same... though, slightly less of a bump.

Not sure what to make of this.

EDIT: I have double checked all my verts in the surrounding area... and there are only single verts... no dupes.

P.S. Grr... lol

What is this? Will it be seen from this close? What does it look like when you zoom out and view the entire asset at a reasonably distance?

u might just unintentionally creased the edge between those selected vertexes, select the edge and check under Edit Edge if Crease is set to zero,

you could always try some things if it really is dirty geometry.

weld all verts at a .01 Threshold
reset your xforms
snapshot of the mesh under Tools > Snapshot
export as an obj

if none of that fixes it... you have done something that we cant physically see through your screenshots.
