    Hey,
    pretty badass reel you have there.

    However, after watching the entire video, I've felt that the first half of it seems quite uninteresting. There's a lot of repetition of just showing different kind of smoke- and fireeffects. Perhaps some variation or simply only showing the best of them would improve that factor.

    The second half seemed way more appealing to me as a viewer, as it showed a huge bunch of variation.
    However, just my two cents.

    The character spawning material was quite awesome. Mind sharing your technique on that? Are the UV's aligned in a way that you can just pan a gradient up?

    Hi wahtye. Thanks for the feedback!

    Yea it's hard to make environment effects very exciting. I might do back and just edit some of those clips down and maybe make them a a little shorter.

    As far as the character effect goes, it's using an IF expression to go between the two textures and yes it's also using a gradient texture to control the panning and the look of the dissolve effect. Hope that helps!

    Here's some feedback:

    You first explosion has a very circular flash, if you get some irregularity in there it will look 'angrier'.


    In your fire effects you got a fire core, and smoke, but you should look at having a middle section with fire embers moving up through the smoke more. You've got some in the alley way fire, but you don't really see those until you get closer. Also they are yellow embers, they should be orange like the outer parts of the fire.

    Isn't there any other engine/game you could show of your effects in. The effects are good but since the engine/game looks so god damn old the effects kind of suffer.

    Try out UDK or something where the base art is more up-to-date and show of your effects there to give them justice..

    Thanks for the feedback guys! so I went in and got rid of some of the redundancy and took out more of the gameplay sequences to focus more on the effects. Also made changes to the C4 and Fire like suggested.

    - Reduced the length of the C4 sequence.
    - Updated the C4 Explosion (added a light to the explosion, changed the flash image and added debris particles).
    - Reduced the length of the Flash Grenade sequence.
    - Edited the light and ambers on the fire.
    - Reduced the length of the muzzle flash clips.
    - Changed the lighting on the Plasma Grenade.
