Hi all, hoping to end up with something cool for the Crystal Maiden. Rough sketch of what I'm going for! Still gotta concept the arm and weapon slots, but gonna try and test some of the other elements in 3d first :icon60:

you put that cute little adorable animal on her shoulders and you've got yourself a customer!

I'm not big on that circlet you put on her head though $:\$ Hair is nice!

Love the arctic fox? skin, awesome idea. I would probably make the area around her neck a bit smaller in the actually model because I don't just the animals fur alone would be that thick. It also makes her look a little top heavy. Unless it's alive...in which case disregard what I said lol.

Here's an update of my concept (after some good crit from danidem & hntrluc). I'm aiming for a 3 piece set (head, shoulders, back) as I'm getting short on time and really need to move on. If time allows, I might still tackle the arm slot and weapon.

Hey, I want to give you a heads up, the model provided from valve is not the same size as the one in the game. When I tried to import my models things were a lot larger. I did not however have any issues with omni-knight so I believe it's an issue with the files provided by valve.

The safest route is to use the .SMDs directly decompiled from the game itself.

whoa, havent noticed that problem before, luckily none of the models ive worked with have had this problem. Have you checked which units the fbx-exporter is using?

Here's an update on my issue. I decompiled the smd from the game and I've found the version provided on the steam workshop is about 20% larger than it is in the game.

If anyone wants the model with the correct size feel free to PM me and I'll send u the maya file with the model.

Here's my zbrush block in-- changed the cape, gonna try and tie it in more to the striped fox tail theme. Got lots of work to do heh..

Tested out the shoulders in-game and it didn't look off scale but I'll have to check it out again with my other pieces.

Here's some progress on the hood, back and fox. Got lots of work to do!

I also settled on a new set name, more fitting to the design I ended up going with-- more of a rougher, hermity Crystal Maiden, training and travelling around Icewrack.

Do you plan to finish this set standalone and submit it to the workshop?

It's so exceptionally cute and (so far) wonderfully modeled! This set will be a shoe-in to enter the game when you finish it.

Wow, thanks for all of the kind comments!

Really pushed hard to try and get it done for the contest but in the end, I needed more time and wasn't happy with my rigging & textures. Definitely would like to finish her as soon as possible!

I have time now to add a hunter's knife and pouch or potions bottle to the her side (will be included in the back slot) since I have quite a bit of extra triangles there. Also can get a weapon done as well as bracers or gloves of some kind for a full set

Any update on your progress? I hope you haven't given up on it!
