UDK dwarf corridor from warhammer

Hello every one, I recently finished a environment piece with the purpose of practice in UDK , its based on a concept art of war hammer that I found on the Internet , I'm not sure if I'm allow to post the image since is not mine but if I am allow let me know please.

Here the scene in UDK, all textures are hand painted.

This are the textures

the walls are 1024x 1024 along with the floor the rest are 512x512

This how process was to paint the texture , I´m very new with hand painting , I familiar with simple things, with the metal I used several brushes and made it scatter with different color variants, simple stuff . With the wood I tried focus on the shadows with very a basic brush just making the lines of the planks.

I like the use of modularity. I'm gonna try tackling hand painted textures at some point, but it looks pretty daunting. I agree that you should definitely work on the shadows mostly for the wood planks. Great start though! Keep updating!

The assets look nice, except for the door, i think it looks a little noisy in its detailing. The lighting is the biggest thing that needs works. Try a couple of different lighting schemes, or perhaps post the reference you are using for us.

Looks good, one thing I noticed is that with the light you have just alpha'd off the emissive and colourized it within UDK, I would suggest actually creating the emissive texture in PS, with more of a dark gradient heading inwards to brightness at the centres of the sections, or just more colour variation and smudging, then bring it in, and multiply by a value till you get the emissive you want, as looks more natural. Look at some of the lights that come in UDK - they look good!

Darkleopard : Thanks I will fix the texture and post some shots of the scene with the lights , I was using only point lights.

m1neh : Thank you, lighting is something I always have problems , I´m checking tutorials right now and fund a good eat 3d dvd I can use in their website.

So far I started redoing lighting and changing some the color tones based on various tutorials, I still think I need to break the scene I little more.

Also I still need to fix some of the textures on the walls.

Heres how the lights were set , its a little different now from the picture above
