you have to check all the settings, the falloff curve.
i can't see everything, but i guess stamp spacing, maybe randomize, is the stuff you have to alter.

I have the exact settings (100 strength and 6 stamp spacing
I used the mudbox 2012 version maybe that's why?

Maybe because of the error i get when starting mudbox (mudbox requires a newer ATI graphics Driver)?

important settings are buildup 100, spacing 0. you can sculpt with update plane on/off. depends on the purpose. set your direction to average normal or camera direction. that error is something i can't answer. i'm not sure if driver issue can cause errors on handling of tools.

but have in mind that spacing 0 will slowdown your brush a lot... i would go with spacing 1...

I dont think the settings of the brush is what's causing the issue
I updated to mudbox 2013, its better but still not as sharp and you see noticable errors on the side of the brush strokes
