First of all, I must confess I based my model on some awesome conceptart I found (going to upload it later).

I was actually going to post the progress of this project on Polycount, but that didn't work out that well :P.
So I'm just going to post all the wips at once (for those who are interested).
I'm still going to focus on some details like little bushes so it still isn't completely finished.

Also, I forgot some details: it was modeled in 3Ds max, rendered in mental ray and then ofcourse finished with a little photoshop magic

Pretty cool. nice renders. adding logo decals or color strips might be a good idea.

Also, it seems a little hard to judge the scale of this. Maybe like a hatch or ladder or something like that so we can get a feel for how big this is.

nice, good detailing process but the texturing is to "uniform" and cool environement.

The scale-problem is definitly one of the biggest issues, i'm going to put a character and some extra stuff in it ...
but I'm really busy right now. just focussing on getting sweet renders to put on my blog.
Added some little vegetation and barely visible logos, but I had a really great time tweaking and photoshopping, it's so much fun !

It looks amazingly realistic! But im not sure the ground really demonstrates how big it is yet.

yeah it looks like a toy, theirs just something about the material applied to it and the ground texture that makes it seem like a Warhammer 40k play piece.

You could really play on that if you wanted to, by adding some depth of field or vignette, make the viewer really feel like their getting up close to the piece :thumbup:

Looks great. I agree with solarSailor, camera angle could be more dynamic to show off the goods. Possibly look for some sick transformer movie posters for reference XD

Looked up some reference of prometheus, how they make their spaceships look big. Found out a simple groundfog was the most efficient solution. Added some little trees in it. ps: I tried rendering from an other angle but they're not that pretty as this one ...
