[Dota2] Slardar Keymaster of the deep

This will be an item set for Slardar, the Keymaster and guardian of the deep. An armour pack with an key theme to indicate the important role Slardar have to protect the wealth in the sunken halls of the deep.

last image.. finish but I did not had the time to finish the helmet so it will only become an 3part set.

An early concept for the weapon Slardar will be using for both slaying his foes but also lock the doors in the big halls deep under the sea.

Fixed the key staff. All meshes are right now LOD1 (ingame). Will make the LOD0 later when all the slots are finished.

hmm think I have to redesign the staffs bottom because I just tested Slardar ingame and notice that he slams the staff against the ground when he uses his slitheren crush and that makes it clipp, so back to the blueprints...

haha yeah, I usually test the meshes ingame as early as I can to see if the siluette and animations works.

Diging the armor so far, and the extra little tail is awesome. The only thing i find abit out of context is the weapon. I get the idea but right now it feels like it could belong to any of the heroes.

I like the design. The top end of it doesn't look very key-like to me. I think it's because it's several wide, different sized chunks put together.

Is the extension of his tail a single set of polygons or does it have depth? Kind of hard to tell from the screenshots but I believe it's got polys on either side, which it should. Don't forget that we can't do 2-sided materials. Looking very good so far, great silhouette value.

I'm not too sure about the key, doesn't seem 'heavy' enough for Slardar, but if you balance it right it could look cool. I think some bigger shoulders/chestpiece would look awesome to add to the armor as well

I chime in with the crowd, looks great. Key turned out especially well. Possibly make the protruding teeth of the key a bit longer? Handle is kind of the same size, and it might help push it more towards axe than key. Or you just loose the key likeness altogether.

haha I think I am on my fourth torso design and the time is running out so right now it feels like it´s no turning back.. but anyway, here it is, more silhouette than before even if it´s hard to see on these detail shoots.

I will keep the key feedback in mind when I am going back to that one.

I notice that the skinning on the torso was a real pain in the ass so I moved that stuff for a later battle and started instead on the fun part, the textures for both the armour/back and weapon slots, right now just in maya viewport with diffuse only.

And now with two more weeks I can redesign the head and arm slots and maybe also finish the outworld destroyer set.
