Okay, so I've done some normals before without much problems, but this time I get this:

Anyone ever experienced this? I can't seem to get rid of it no matter what. What the projection is "refering" to is the hi-poly version of an axe which is completely smooth. So I don't see any reason for it to get this weird. I've tried to fix it, but can't seem to figure it out...

Looks like hard edges on the lowpoly.

Yeah, I know, but I have no idea why. I'm projecting the hi-poly and rendering it, but still it looks like this.

Harden your UV Shell border edges, and soften everything else. The faceting is a dead giveaway that you need to modify your smoothing groups.
