Guides in ZBrush?

Is there a way to set up guides in ZBrush? Similar to the guides and ruler system in Photoshop?

These guides are great if you are working off a concept and want to check your proportions.
A kind of workaround I saw from the pre-Zbrush 4 R4 version is using 3d planes. This is used by Scott Spencer in his book "Digital Sculpting: Human Anatomy. The way it works is he takes a plane and positions it so that in the side view you look at its side so it's invisible. Now he gives it a slight rotation so that the plane surface is seen from the side view. Then he duplicates it around to give him the line he needs. He uses this to measure head length in a character.
The first approach using the reference plane I'd say is quicker and easier to use.
By the way, is it possible to set up the grid like a guide system?
For example, I could have it in the background as well as on the floor?
You can change the grid settings under the draw dropdown.
To answer your other question: You can toggle the X, Y and Z icon in the floor buttom located directly underneath the perspective button on the right hand side to enable the various grids. It is also possible to load in textures in there for reference.
