Hi,
My name is Jonathan and I live in Houston, TX. This thread will hopefully track my progression from chemical plant worker to environment artist.
This is the first real time asset that I created. It could be better optimized but I learned a lot about the game art pipeline with this project.
Crits and advice appreciated.
Thanks.

This is still a WIP:
Scene is coming along nicely
I'm thinking a half buried and busted up boat on the beach would make it more interesting. I also want to add thick tropical foliage to the top of the ridge line but that might have to wait until I build a new machine. If I put too much foliage, it runs fine in the editor but UDK throws a critical error when I try to build the light maps. I probably don't have enough memory(32 bit with 4gb of ram).
I made a wrecked boat and littered the beach with rum barrels.
I've made a lot of mistakes through out this project but I learned a ton about UDK and game art in general.
