I heard you guys like handpainted characters

Been putting off making a thread for a long time, finally getting around to it.

Basically this is from a little ARPG spare time project I've been working on for a little while and to help avoid burnout when I'm feeling tired of prototyping I'm going to be making art for it.

This concept I had done some months ago, but was feeling unhappy with it after looking at ti again and did a paintover today. Still feel like it needs more color maybe, but I'll push ahead to model blockout anyway.

C/C/etc, is always welcome.

nice job with the texturing over the flatter color work-- really stands out nicely. I think you've hit a happy medium between stylization and good proportions; there's a lot of character here without making it overly cartoonish. I'd be really interested to see some other visual explorations in the world this kid lives in. Seems like you've struck a nice balance overall.

Update 1: Model block out. Still lots to tweak, mostly the eyes because I don't really know how I want to handle it. I want to keep to the concept art as much as possible so I'm debating if I should split the eyes into their own meshes like normal or keep them attached and figure out some other way to do the pupils.

Sitting at 4.5k tris with equipment.
