If anyone knows a game (console, pc/mac, iOS, android...etc) that is a space game w/ team fortress style texturing, please let me know, I'm needing a good reference.

You might try out cargo commander, its a game coming out from two guys, and it looks great!

I don't wish to dissuade you in your search, but you should read the TF Illustrative rendering pdf. It explains how and why they went in that direction. having said that, i seriously doubt you will find any game that closely matches that look.

Most if not all video games on the mass market use photo texture, photo texture/painted or hand painted texture maps.

What you are pointing to is a stylized hand painted texture look, painted in the way of an early 20th century illustrative style.

I did read it, I just really was hoping their was some space type indie or commercial games out there that had very close looks to it, before I choose a design style, I was just putting some ideas together.

I don't think Star Craft II is in the same style as TF2 but definitely is very stylized. Give some of their concepts a look to see what I mean.

Ive been playing firefall, great game btw, if anyone wants an invite, i think i got some left.

Firefall has the borderlands look, but we're leaning towards that direction for sure.

Wildstar is NCSoft's new MMO coming out, which i REALLY do love that texture actually. It's tough one, I think im trying to find a mix between wildstar and TF2

think you should read desgine docs like the valve on for tf2, and ones for other games, to get a idea of how and why they did these styles, and try to make your own style based on the needs of your game, instead of trying to copy a existing style.

I never said copy an existing style. I just wanted an idea of the many different styles of these and create my own from there.

So far I like TF2 and Wildstar, and would like to mesh them together

hmm, i like the textures on star wars, but a little TO cartoon-y for my project.

Picture a canary - no picture it with blue and yellow polka-dots, that is the marvel of human imagination. Now imagine a apace game with Team Fortress styled textures & shading. Or wait for me to finish my sci-fi zero-G shooter.
