[DS2] Hammer Suspekt

Hey all!

Thanks to the people who organized this event and everyone participating! Lots of awesome work out there!:)

I thought I'd contribute a Demonic Hammer design to the contest! Hopefully I will finish in time...

Here's what I got for a concept so far. Any feedback or suggestions are welcome!

Thats an amazing idea.The hammer stone though looks out of place for me though.

I decided to do a few more iterations based on some of the feedback.

However, it's time for me to stop concepting and start modeling! I'm going to start the basemesh with everything except for the hammer head area to give some time to hear some votes!

Should I go Corruption Axe, Ice Hammer, or Flesh Mace?!

I actually liked the stone hammer in the very first image best...it had a nice contrast between the organic growth and the clear lines of the head...from the last three the ice hammer would have the same contrast, but I don't like the ice in general, so I would say the axe.

I think the flesh mace is the best of them. It communicates your core idea of the melting skulls and skin without any distractions like with the corruption spikes or the ice block. Maybe try and make the ring around the flesh a bit more angular?

I've added a Molten Hammer to the lineup. I couldn't resist trying one more theme for this design before modeling.

I started rushing towards the end but the idea is there.

Honestly, I'm a fan of the purple one. Very classic style. Maybe if you beefed up the end a bit it might seem more formidable. Either way, I hope you get this done.

Ice hammer would be bitchin, since I don't think anyone else has gone down that route, but I guess it depends on how confident you are on getting a nice icy material.

I like the Ice Hammer, but the transition from the skulls to the hammer bit doesn't quite seem to work. If you can get the head of the hammer to fit with the rest of the weapon I think it will look great!

@Glenatron You're right, I guess I'm curious how that will turn out as well. All the more reason to try right?

Started the basemesh. I still plan on reworking the hammer head based on the feedback.

It looks like it's leaning towards Ice Hammer! I will be finishing the basemesh probably tomorrow so last chance to vote!

Blue area - outside objects will simply clip throgh other objects. no biggie.

Brown area - the skulls will poke out of deaths hand should he ever grip it from there.
as far as I'm concerned, the brown proxy is pretty much the "maximum" of a staff's dimension, so u can still see death's fingers.

@Evanescfan I compensated in max for the thinner handle according to the proxy size, I overlooked making the change to the photoshop file at the time. Thanks for clarifying this for me.

I've had 2 more votes for Corruption Axe, 1 for Flesh Mace, and even 1 for Molten Hammer!

Some feedback for the Axe was to make the crystals form more of an axeblade shape, or have there be an actual blade with crystals around it.
