I went for the Maker axe.

Current Status:

What I got so far, almost ready for sculpting:

Here's a slight variation. Needs another kind of small blade on the right side. I'm still undecided which way to go:

Heh, nice idea with the moustache. Think you could exaggerate the blade a lot more though.

I agree. A lot of these forms could be exaggerated including the mustache and mechanical parts on the top of the axe.

Thanks guys, I agree. I drew this before I read the comments, but the next step will incorporate some changes to exaggerate some bits.

I want to move the whole thing in this general direction. The Arms need a lot more bulk and I will move the back up and arch it. Some dips where the hands are might be nice as well.

I really dig the second one. just add a blade to the back. Look at the Maker Scythe in the reference image.

Option number 3 with the upturned back blade has a lot of character to it. Run with it!
