I have just finished the first sculpting pass. I'll need to go back and add final detailing later on.
I'm not sure if I will keep the chain on the handle due to the tri limit. This goes for the chains holding the mask on as well. Any comments/crits would be great. Iv'e been staring at this piece for so long now, I'm not sure what to think anymore. $:\$

I think the skull has an odd shape. Maybe just narrowing the cheek bones a bit will help. And the colors in your concept look like they are just randomly placed.

Thanks for the input. The colors were not final at all in the concept. They were used more as place holders to block out the shape, the final colors scheme will flow together better. I'll have to work on the skull, it does look kind of strange.

Did a paint over messing with the color scheme. Not final, but going in a much better direction I think.

Looks cool- seems like you're having same problem I am with no comments, Your axe is reading, to me at least, like a big mace atm you may need to pull out the bladed portions a bit more or shrink down the stuff going on in the center

Thanks for your input. It does get a little difficult to keep going with no crits. You become unsure about what to do since you have no idea what anyone thinks about it. I see how it could possibly come off as a mace, I'll have to give it some tweaks.

Spec would really spruce this up too. That brown blade is not really working for me but overall the design is boss.

Thanks for the crit.
I tried hollowing out around the skull and I think I like it. I boosted the spec a bit and agree that the blade was a bit to brown. The last image was rather flat in color and a bit monochromatic. So I tried adding more colors and mixing them around on the same parts. As far as the glowing eyes in the skulls on the handles, I tried a few colors since I wasn't sure which to go with or if they even needed to glow.
I must say, the darksiders style is not easy to match.

You're doing fine mate. Only real crit I can think of is making the grey parts have a little more colour. Paint some reds, greens, purples on it and blend it in. As Bobo said in his stream, the surfaces are never one single colour.

Thanks for the crit. I added more color and will be starting on the low polly. I don't know if the handle chain will fit in so I may just replace it with wraps if it doesn't.
