Update:

I'm jumping in on this. I'd like to try and make a model for each category but we'll see how far I get. Axes for now, I realize proportions are off on the handles and such. I'll further refine the chosen design before going into sculpting.

dood nice -- second one for sure - however I do think a little more color variation can help sell it

one is the most unique, but i think two is the strongest. 4 is cool, but youd have to play with the symmetry of it. imo thats what sets your first two apart.

alright so I haven't been able to work on this for the past two weeks because of GDC and school...my workload has lightened up so hopefully i can finish at least one weapon. Here's an update of the axe right now:
