Hi, I find it very entertaining to do Electronics with 3D interactive programs

one of my last projects

controlling a stepper motor -salvaged from a dead scanner-
using 2 ways

1- a knob -potentiometer- which is a common practice
2- computer 3D program

blog_pic1.jpg

you open the closet by entering a password
and you choose the speed you want! also you can move the stepper motor by one step :)

so, basically:

(1): you can control electronics with computer

example
"
a vibration feedback occurs when a 3D car hits an object in a racing game, if the impact was high, then the motor vibration will be fierce
"

or
(2): control computer with electronics
"
you can animate a character using knobs & [force, light, tilt.... ] sensors

this is one of the last characters I made
-inspired by other 3 characters-

now I can control my character via webcam image processing, as a feature in my game [good for dance beat games] , or even pose him with knobs for animation... etc etc...

the stepper motor project is an exercise and a proof of concept, now I can make a real racing cabient for example that tilts & making shocks and vibrations according to the data received from my game.

I also can make Bluetooth wireless devices, yay... this is a lot of fun!

I also think I can make a [new idea for a painting tablet that makes sculpting more easy and fun]

or even make my own Robotic arm manipulator...

PS: I'm teaching this topic at a local center here in Jordan for engineers, Mechatronics Engineering + 3D Game Development = infinite fun.

PPS: if you have any good ideas, don't hesitate to tell me what you have got.

Q:
so you do 3D Games too?
sure:
this is one my old own Ifluid clone
