I have a question about xNormal. I just discovered the program and want to bake maps for my object. Im really new to all this so please forgive me if these question are stupid.
The programs i work with are
#dsmax and Mudbox. Created low poly in Max -> sculpt in Mudbox -> retopo max -> unwrapped. So I basically have my LP unwrapped obj and my Highpoly that isnt unwrapped.
What should my next step be because i tried to bake an AO and normal map byt they look bad.
1) is it a must that my LP obj should be unwrapped? Should both LP and HP be unwrapped? ( my object is a dragon head so pretty complex.)
2)Should both HP and LP be centered to grid so the match positions? (My object some how rotate goin from Mud to Max)

Your low poly needs to be wrapped, yes, since the normal/ao info has to get baked to something. Your high poly does not need to be unwrapped.
It doesn't matter where they are positioned in 3d space, but your going to want them to be occupying the same space.
