Remove the flash, tried looking at your site/work, but with a horrible flash navigation I closed it which is what HR will do.
Flash is annoying to navigate and taking away the ability to save out your images which is something HR dose a lot. Save images and emails them to Art Directors/Leads.
Thanks for the feedback, is there any recommended site that you guys prefer to use? I do have a personal website but i have no idea how to put a photo gallery onto the website. Or just having a blog like blogspot is good enough?
@Fuse - I really like simpleness and the layout of your website, I am just wondering how did you build gallery like that, or what program you have to use?
HTML is really simple and the amount you need to know to make a portfolio is miniscule. Just enough to put a title: <h1>MY PORTFOLIO</h1> some text: <p>all about me yadda yadda</p> and some images: <img src="gallery/render01.jpeg">
then you add some equally simple CSS to make it look pretty and your done. You could make a site like Fuse's in a day with any HTML for beginners book. I made mine in a weekend with a book on CSS I got from my local library.
Besides the website itself, I think you should explain or show exactly which parts of the Tron environments you made or cut down the number of images. There's tons there, I am not sure what to think when I look at it all. Choose a couple good angles or parts you were happy with and show them.
The alley scene is being hurt by the lighting and presentation. It's super heavy on contrast and really grainy. The lighting itself isn't very dynamic, there's not a lot of colour to it and not a lot of use of the lighting to highlight specific areas of the image. The environment fog is really bright and really strong. In some ways this wip is better than the final image.
Alright so I spend some time reorganizing my portfolio moving all my Wix stuff to the blogspot page. Let me know what you guys think, what I am lacking, thanks for the feed back it helped a lot.
In terms of the content, I would remove the 2D lifedrawings. Not only are they not the same quality as your 3D work, but it is also odd that they depict anatomy studies when you are an environment artist.
Alright thanks, I will try sort out some of the Tron images, I am probably go and disable the wix website since it gives me pretty crappy image resolution. Thanks guys!
I noticed the audio from the demo reel only worked on the right ear. Not as big of an issue as these other guys are pointing out but something you might want to look at
a portfolio should be viewed as easy as possible, so I would stick to the bare minimal.
a page with your art, and a page with your resume, and maybe a page to your demoreel if you have one, or put your demoreel on top of the main page with all the art underneath.
You can look at my portfolio for an example of a minimal website that serves its purpose
Alright, so I spend some time last night using Muse to create a quick and simple site it is not complete yet but the layout is pretty much done, let me know what you guys think.
I think you may want to re-order your content somewhat. Your demoreel from 2009 is probably much less relevant that your work on Tron for example. Just consider the placement of all the elements closely.
Following what Dim said. Take what ever is your most current work and put that first. After that just order it in terms of quality. If you feel like something is off about a certain set of images, move the banner down a notch. Be critical and honest with yourself and your work.

I find lightbox is a really good tool for displaying your gallery in an orderly way and its really basic to learn even if you're not into code
