AO white background Maya

In 3ds max when i bake out an ambient occlusion map im able to change the background to white. like the attached image

is there anyway to do this in maya?
everytime i bake out an ao in maya i get a black background.

    The camera you render with, has an environment setting - chance the color to white and
    it shall work

    would that work, he's using transfer maps, not doing a scene render so he prolly dosnt even need/ have a camera in scene.


    all bakes form maya include a alpha channel, so you could use that to quickly select the background and fill it with whilte
