[3ds Max 2009] Undo not working properly!

Today at work Max 2009 started acting up on me with no apparent reason. When I hit CTRL+Z, it undoes several steps instead of just one! I'm animating a character and I can't mess up any rotation or else I lose a bunch of keyframes that I already set.
Right now I'm relying on a lot of saves, but that's slowing me down a bit. Anyone ever saw this happening?

they never fixed it for 2009, seems alright in 2012 so far though
