UDK + Wacom Tablet = :(

Over the past year I have gotten so used to a Wacom Tablet I use it in Maya, Max, Zbrush, Mudbox, Photoshop - everything else...I don't even really use my mouse anymore - it's plugged in just in case my Wacom tablet spontaneously combusts

Now that I am learning UDK...it is really annoying to use a tablet on - so I went back to a mouse...The slightest pen flick sends the screen flying into the far reaches of 3D space. Does anyone know if there is any way - or any sort of plug in or setting that i can use a wacom tablet with UDK?

No, but I remember them promising better tablet compatibility in the future releases.

Also, how can people use tablets in 3ds Max? seems cumbersome.

same here, i suffer with that too. I do NOT use a mouse for ANYTHING, I even play SC2 and LoL with the tablet.

go to your wacom tablet properties and in the last tab there should be a function to change your pen in a mouse.

Computron - I got used to Maya 1st with a tablet - when my teacher informed me of marking menus and pen flicks lol...In Max I changed the viewport navigation to the way Maya is so I don't have to go insane - and the rest is just getting used to it...I like it lol

Zwamneus - i tried that before - but it doesn't have the same tracking as a tablet - its just a mouse in pen form...- like when you move from one end of the tablet to the other the curser doesn't go all the way from left to right

Have you tried camera speed thing on top center panel of UDK? What u mentioned seems like a issue related to that.

Screw tablets. UDK needs 3DMouse support!(actually Zbrush needs 3DMouse support as well ><) I tried making a custom UDK profile for my SpacePilot Pro, but it just wasn't the same.

I only really use the tablet in Max for retopo and viewport canvas.

I use my tablet & pen for nearly all modeling and windows navigation at work. It's easier on the wrists, especially if you've ever had issues with CTS. Sadly, I have to use my mouse while working in Unreal. You can set the pen to mouse mode for UDK, as zwamneus pointed out, but it's really annoying when you go back and forth between UDK/Max/Photoshop and the behavior and speed of the pen changes on you

Epic said that better support is coming in UDK, so hopefully that happens soon.

same as Joshua, I use a tablet for everything....except UDK ( I use a lot of quad menus in Max)

That would be a video worth seeing ... I don't understand how you can model in Max with a tablet. Certain operations, sure, but the whole time? Need video!

Just Quad-Menu 99% of your shortcuts and done, all you'll have trouble is getting a good Alt, Ctrl and Space control going for your Tablet.

So yeah, I would like a video too since my Tablet and Max have lots of issues with the more function keys.

In the same boat, use my Tablet for everything but UDK
